Key Features
  • The integration of theory and psychomotor knowledge gives students a better understanding of skill application to real life practice.
  • The text is organized around the NBRC content matrix so that students can use the text as an NBRC study aid.
  • The inclusion of AARC Clinical Practice Guidelines makes this text a one source reference for skills and CPGs.

New to this edition
  • Existing chapters have been updated and revised to reflect changes in the scope of practice.
  • The ventilation section has been extensively revised including updates in non-invasive ventilation, pressure and volume ventilation, advanced modes of ventilation, neonatal pediatric ventilation, and oscillatory ventilation.
  • Material has been updated to reflect recent changes in the field. For example, this new edition contains updates to commonly used terminology, a list of the Joint Commission abbreviations that should not be used in documentation, revised information on contact transmission, updated AARC Clinical Practice Guidelines, and updated drug information.
