David I. Silverman, MD is a Professor of Medicine at the University Of Connecticut School Of Medicine in Farmington, CT, and Director of the Echocardiography Laboratory at Hartford Hospital in Hartford, CT. He received his B.A. in English from Yale College in 1976, followed by his M.A. in Biochemistry from the University of Chicago in 1978. Dr. Silverman earned his M.D. from the University of Illinois College of Medicine in 1982. He served as a Clinical Fellow in Cardiology at the West Roxbury Veterans’ Administration Medical Center, Harvard Medical School from 1985-1987 and as a Research Fellow in Cardiology at the Beth Israel Hospital in Boston, MA from 1987-1990. After working as an Instructor in Medicine at Harvard Medical School in 1989, he joined the faculty of the University of Connecticut School of Medicine in 1990 as an Assistant Professor of Medicine.
Dr. Silverman has published over fifty peer-reviewed articles during his career, which have appeared in such journals as The American Journal of Cardiology, The New England Journal of Medicine, Circulation, and The Journal of the American Medical Association. He was the recipient of National Institutes of Health Clinical Associate Physician Award in 1995 for “"Suppression of Atrial Fibrillation and Cardiac Function, and a two-time recipient of the Claude Pepper Older Americans Independence Center Research Development Award; in 1999 for “Ventricular Pacing in Atrial Fibrillation and Cardiac Performance” and in 2000 for “Functional Status Following Cardioversion of Atrial Fibrillation”.
Warren J. Manning, MD-Professor of Medicine and Radiology, Harvard Medical School, Section Chief, Non-Invasive Cardiac Imaging, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Boston, Massachusetts.
Warren J. Manning received his B.S. in mechanical engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology followed by his M.D. from Harvard Medical School in 1983. This was followed by internship/residency in internal medicine and fellowship in cardiovascular diseases at the former Beth Israel Hospital, Boston. Since 1989, he has been on the full-time staff of Beth Israel Hospital/current Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Boston where he is the Section Chief of Non-invasive Cardiac Imaging and Co-director of the Cardiac MR Center. He also serves as Professor of Medicine and Radiology at Harvard Medical School. His fields of interest include the application of echocardiography to the management of atrial fibrillation and the application of magnetic resonance to the cardiovascular system.
Dr. Manning serves as an editorial consultant and member of various editorial boards including Circulation, The Journal of the American College of Cardiology and the European Heart Journal. He is currently the Co-Editor of the “Images in Cardiovascular Medicine” section of Circulation and of the Editor of Non-invasive Cardiac Imaging and Stress Test of UpToDate. He has co-authored over 200 peer-reviewed articles and over 100 reviews/book chapters/textbooks.
