About the Author
- Dr Thankamma V Ajithkumar MD, FRCP, FRCR, is at present a Consultant Clinical Oncologist at Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital. Previous to that he was a Consultant Clinical Oncologist at the Bristol Haematology & Oncology Centre, and a Specialist Registrar in Clinical Oncology at Addenbrookes Hospital, Cambridge. He has also lectured in clinical oncology at the Regional Cancer Centre in Kerala, India, and was employed as Assistant Professor there.
- Dr Natalie Cook is a final year Specialist Registrar in Medical Oncology at Addenbrookes Hospital in Cambridge. She is currently completing her PhD in Oncology and has a special interest in medical education and gastrointestinal cancers.
- Dr Helen Hatcher is a Consultant Medical Oncologist at Addenbrookes Hospital in Cambridge. She is also Honorary Consultant Medical Oncologist and Academic Consultant and Research Group Leader at Cambridge University. Her special interests are Teenage and Young Adult Cancers, Sarcoma and Ovarian cancer.
- Ann Barrett, OBE, MD, FRCR, FRCP, FMed Sci, is Professor Emeritus at the University of East Anglia. She has won various prestigious awards, including the Frank Ellis Medal for the best publication in Clinical Oncology, the President's Medal of the Royal College of Radiologists and the ESTRO lifetime achievement award. Ann was Professor of Oncology and Deputy Dean of the School of Medicine at the University of East Anglia from 2002-2008, whilst also working as a Consultant in Oncology at Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
